Antique Silver Plated Trophy Tankard | Rummy Championship | Batu Gajah 1928

A proper piece of history. Somewhere in colonial Malaya, in 1928, W.S. Lloyd sat down at a card table and won this.

This EPNS silver plated tankard is engraved "Rummy Championship, Batu Gajah, Won by W.S. Lloyd, 1928". Batu Gajah was the administrative capital of the Kinta Valley tin rush in British Malaya (now Malaysia) — a small, tight-knit European community of around 30 people, with the Kinta Gymkhana Club at its social heart. This was almost certainly won there.

Nearly a century old and still standing. We love that for him.
